What is shy courgette?

Shy courgette, also known as baby courgette, is a type of small zucchini that is harvested young, typically when it is about 10 cm (4 inches) long and 2-4 cm (1-1.5 inches) in diameter. It gets its name from its delicate nature and tendency to hide under the foliage of the plant, making it harder to spot and harvest.

Shy courgette is a popular summer vegetable in Mediterranean cuisine, often grilled or roasted with olive oil and herbs. It is low in calories, high in fiber, and a good source of vitamins and minerals, making it a healthy addition to salads, soups, stir-fries, and pasta dishes.

It is relatively easy to grow shy courgette in a sunny spot with well-drained soil, but it requires regular watering and fertilizing to thrive. It is also susceptible to powdery mildew, insect pests, and fruit rot, so it is important to monitor and treat any signs of infestation or disease.
